Want to wait 17 days for a card? Definitely go with Nedbank. They'll even charge you twice!

If all South African traders allowed for snapscan transactions my rating would have maybe been 2 stars. The Nedbank Money app feature allowing you to transact without needing your wallet is perfect, but the world we live in is not, unfortunately.

It is now Day 17 of not having a bank card with Nedbank with them deciding where to deliver the card on my behalf for some reason and then making a new set of cards which are still not in my possession even after an apparent "escalation". I recently learned through my experience with Nedbank that escalation is just a fancy word they throw about that actually has no action attached to it. All they know is telling you to call back tomorrow and apologising as if that requires no action to mean anything.

They will then tell you to go and visit the branch to collect your bank cards to which you will be greeted by a consultant who will inform you that there are no bank cards in your name to collect. That is after you queue for 30 minutes (COVID-19 has made everything slower so not neccesarily all their fault). The consultant will then send and email to track down your card when a phone call would be more of a show of urgency. You will be told that you will receive a call when the card is finally located. The next call will come after the bank has closed and you will be informed that the cards were indeed at the bank but for some reason could not be given to you. You'll lay another formal complaint to which they will ask you "what you'd like them to do". I did not realise I was head of customer service at Nedbank all of a sudden.

Day 17, been charged twice for cards I do not have and also still have to pay the monthly account fee. Wonderful bnking experience, absolutely wonderful.
