Very unhappy with Nedbank
During October and November 2022 there were a number of Internet transactions on my credit card account that I didn’t make. I didn’t receive any indication of the transactions on my phone or otherwise. When I saw the transactions on my electronic bank statements I immediately stopped the card and reported the problem to my local branch. I filled in the necessary forms and submitted them. I was informed that the problem was forwarded to the ***** department, and I was given a telephone number to phone if I didn’t get a reaction after 14 days. I also got a new credit card with a completely new number and changed my password and pin to something completely new. So far so good and I was happy with the service I got. After three weeks I phoned the ***** department, was given a case number, and told to enquire again later. This was when things started to go wrong. After numerous phone calls from my side I received an SMS on the 8th February 2023 to inform me that the money has been refunded and will be shown in my account on the 9th. The money didn’t show in my account on that day, and I gave it a few days extra. It still didn’t show. After numerous phone calls in which I every time received a different answer I gave it another few days. On the 21st of February there were again two *****ulent transactions from two of the same sites that were part of the October/November *****. This time Nedbank suspended my whole internet banking account. I really don’t see how keeping me out of my whole account; my transmission account, my credit card account, as well as my investment accounts, could solve the problem of *****ulent internet transactions which I had no hand in. Because I couldn’t even pay anything I asked them to at least give me access to my money, which they did. During March, nearly a month after the 9th of February, I phoned the ***** department again, and was told by a very unfriendly woman that the money was paid into my account already. I told her I’m looking at my accounts, but the money didn’t show. She got angry and told me to phone the call center and ask them to email me a statement so I can see for myself the money is in my account. I phoned the call center as instructed. There I spoke to a very friendly lady who told me she also can’t see a refund of any sorts on any of my accounts. She said I must hold so she can enquire from the ***** department what’s going on. After a time, the call was disconnected. Suffice it to say that it is the 31st of march today and there’s still no refund or any other communication from either the call center or the ***** department. The only conclusion I can come to is that I am now being ******** by Nedbank itself. I am very unhappy at the moment and I’m thinking of leaving Nedbank, which I’ve been banking with for a long time, altogether. Is there any way that I can get this problem resolved as the bank doesn’t seem to be willing or able to?
