********l practice bad customer service

I send an email to Nedbank insurance regarding a leaking toilet or pipes pertaining to the toilet which is inside my home.

Yesterday I get a call from Nedbank at the time I got this call I was in a meeting and I explained this to the lady that called stating that I need us to rush the call or we could talk later as my concentration was focused on the meeting., nevertheless she ignored that and continued talking.

At some point in our conversation she asked me when did the leak occur, I said to her it could have been last years, this year, a month ago but was not really sure, she persisted in asking me for the exact date/period I was rushing the call and mentioned different dates not aware that she was tricking me. Nevertheless she couldn’t care instead on a date finally I mentioned different dates again. She then said to me the claim will be rejected because in my policy it states that claims should be submitted within 60 days of the occurrence. I got upset and said to her, so what it means is all along you were tricking me she was adamant and remained on her decision.

I mentioned to her that I will ask my pensioner sister who I live with as she will have an idea of when this started. Further explained to her that most of the time I am not there, therefore it would be hard for me to know when this started.

This is my take: YOU CAN NOT USE A RECORDING WITHOUT GIVING ME A DISCLAIMER THAT SAYS SOMETHING LIKE THIS: PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR CALLS ARE RECORDED FOR QUALITY AND LEGAL PURPOSES. Why did she not do this and now she uses the call? This is going to go all the way up to the OMBUDSMAN if need be. I feel I was ******* into saying what I said without being made aware of the implications.

Is this how NEDBANK operates?
