UNFAIR TREATMENT BY NEDBANK INSURANCE CLAIM NO: C***
Good day Sir/Madam
I trust you are well. I am writing this letter to formally submit, my dissatisfaction created by Nedbank insurance. I have been banking with the bank for almost 29 years as loyal client with policy no.*** a renewal insurance dated 2011.12.01. I reported a electrical breakdown on my property on the 2025.11.13 to City of Cape Town/Eskom and an official advise me to look for a professional/registered electrician. Then I realized that, I do have insurance with Nedgroup, immediately I contacted them and reported the matter of not having electricity at my house. They promised to send someone to access and it take almost 4 days without electricity and I was in state of panic, my food in fridge was about to rot. I took the advise of City of Cape Town and hire a registered electrician called the MAPS Project and immediately responded. They said that, an underground electric cable is the cause of the problem and gave the go-ahead to sort out the problem out of my savings I decided to pay them. According to MAPS the problem caused by incorrect installation of electrical cable by the builder of the property and causing a power failure inside the house. Later Nedbank sent someone to do assessment as the problem is already mitigated by MAPS Projects.I show the pictures as part of evidence and invoice by MAPS. Nedbank is now dodging to reimburse me, remember this is covered by my insurance. I request your intervention in this matter and I want to put on record that, this is not the first time I'm treated in this way by Nedbank. Last year around April I experience a problem with my Garage Motor and they refuse to replace it and cited that I'm the one suppose to maintain it and send me rejection letter. Remember I about to finish paying my house now, hence why they're playing all these games. What is the purpose of paying insurance if are not willing to assist. Hopefully this complaint will find you well and given the attention it deserves.
Kind regards MR and MRS JAKUJA
