Unfair Judgment Leading to Job Loss

Dear HelloPeter Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to publicly share a serious complaint against Nedbank South Africa, whose actions have resulted in the ******** judgment listing against my name, costing me an important job opportunity and severely damaging my professional and personal life. My Story: I was under Debt Review through DebtBusters from July 2022, and all my creditors – including Nedbank – were paid via this formal arrangement. Despite this, Nedbank and their appointed debt collectors repossessed my vehicle in February 2023, claiming I had “voluntarily surrendered” it. This is completely false. They later secured a default judgment based on a document I did not knowingly or voluntarily sign. I was never properly served court papers or notified of any hearing. This judgment has now appeared on my credit profile and was recently flagged during a pre-employment check by AVI, who consequently rescinded a job offer, despite me having passed all interviews and assessments. What This Has Caused: Loss of a secured job at AVI. Reputational harm and emotional trauma. Blocked future employment prospects. Long-term financial instability due to an unjust listing. I am now pursuing a rescission application through the courts, but I want my story shared publicly so others can be warned. Too many South Africans suffer silently due to similar ********* debt collection practices and abuse of legal procedures by large banks. My Appeal: I ask that HelloPeter: Share this complaint publicly on your platform. Help amplify the issue so Nedbank is held accountable. Encourage other victims to speak up if they’ve faced similar abuse. I am available to provide supporting documents, police clearance status, emails, and additional evidence of the injustice I’ve suffered. Thank you for your support.
