Unfair Card fees

I cancelled my Garage card last year. on the 11th of Aug 2023 i was charged an anaual fee for a garage card, But i don't have one.

I requested a refund on the 14th of Aug, again on the 30th of Aug and again on the 12th of October.

Today i phoned to find out what the hold up is, just to be told that there is a 12 month waiting period and will still be liable for the annual fee.

How is this fair? Nobody informed me about this 12 month period even after i was charged annual fee after i cancelled the card last year.
