UNBELIVABLY UNSYMPATAHATIC
Further to my comments on 25 March 2021, I received calls from a client resolution officer (very junior I must say) and I had to explain the situation over and over. I was then informed that he will refer it to his manager. Friday afternoon I got a call again from the same consultant asking me how much must be transferred and I said the full amount. I was under the impression that Nedbank realised the situation, especially the fact that, with the lockdown, it is not possible for anybody to visit my father-in-law and that he is not allowed to leave the frail care facility (which in any event would have been a particularly challenging task because he is 95 an immobile) and was going to transfer the funds. Just to get a call from the branch manager from Nedbank Gans Bay earlier asking question and me repeating the situation again. THEY STILL DON’T WANT TO EXCEPT THE POWER OF ATTORNEY AND WANT MY FATHER-IN-LAWS SIGNATURE ON THEIR DOCUMENT. I have in the meantime found out that ABSA is the only bank that accepts power of attorneys.
