Unauthorised debit orders.
I would very much like to know if anybody else is experiencing the same as the following: I am with Nedbank. For the past two years I have been debitted with an unauthorised debit order for the amount of R37.44 by Gogo; some ******** instition impossible to trace or contact. I've written numerous letters to Nedbank, called the customer services, and visited two diffferent branches, Northcliff and Rosebank, and after more than a year and a half!!!!, got to stop the debit order. But everytime I cancelled and reversed the order, I had to pay Nedbank R55 plus at least another R5.00 for each cancelled or reversed transaction. Which is very clear why Nedbank was so reluctant to assist me. But that was not the end of it. As soon as I stopped the Gogo debit order, one from MoiMooi started out of the blue, with exactly the same amount. Obviously, again. unauthorised. Back to square one, with the difference that Nedbank now charges me R85.00 for every debit order transaction cancelled/reversed, plus at least another R5.00. And if course, they tell me that they cannot cancel the debit order, even though I have never authorised it, and why should they? Work it out for yourself. Nedbank scores, the receiver of debit order makes fortunes and the customer pays!!! Say this happens to all Nedbank's clients, or only a quarter, or half of them, how much money are we talking about? And on top of it, Nedbank and all other banks don't respond or investigate, if the amount for disputed debit orders is less than R100. What a golden opportunity for all ****s. I am nauseated by the mere thought of how powerful institutions set the table for crime, and also prevent the complainant to act against it. Come on Nedbank, DO SOMETHING!!!!!
