Unable to close account

I've been trying to close my Nedbank cheque account for nearly a whole month now. In the meantime Nedbank continue charging me bank fees and the account is falling more and more in overdraft. The service I've received via the web chat and call centre is shocking. In my last attempt to close my account, I requested that the agent send me an email confirming that the account is in fact closed, I have received this email, yet the account is still open.
