Un-authorised debit orders on inactive account
Nedbank allow un-authorised debit orders to go off an in-active account and then hand it over for legal action. Me and my husband both had nedbank accounts and then moved over to another bank, he phoned and closed his account with no problem. When I phoned to close my account they said sorry I cant because there is an outstanding balance - I asked them how can that be if there is no transactions taking place on the account, no money in or out, they couldnt answer me and transfered me from one department to the next with no success. I eventually had to pull my own statements to see what is going on. There is an unauthorised debit order going off on the account for some funeral policy that I certainly do not have. All my policies are done through our company. I refuse to pay any money towards this account and still up to date they still allow the company to debit the R60 even when the account is in a -
