Transactions on BLOCKED CARDS

On the 12th May 2017, my wife fell victim to a remote jamming theft in fourways where my nedbank cards were ******.

I immediately called the private banking and blocked my cards. I then ordered new cards and explained to the consultant that my wife has POWER OF ATTORNEY over my accounts, and will be collecting the new cards at Dainfern, where she has collected my cards before, as i work abroad. Upon arrival at Dainfern Nedbank, the same teller that issued my wife the cards in December, refused to issue the new cards, and insisted that i send a letter from overseas giving her permission to pick up my cards altough my wife already has POWER OF ATTORNEY over my account. I then immediately sent a letter from abraod to the bank, which then said i must take the letter to the south african embassy here in the middle east and get it stamped before they can help me.

On the 22nd June I recieved an sms from Nedbank saying that my account is overdrawn. When i checked my account online, i realised that the cards that was reported ****** was still being used at TOLL GATES from Pretoria all the way to ZAMBEZI TOLL Plaza.

I called the bank immediately, and all this while i am still abroad, and spoke to a Consultant ( Cornell) who told me that he was going to contact the ***** department and call me back, which he never did. 45min later i called again and spoke to a second consultant ( Amanda) who told me that Cornell had put a note on the system that the transactions took place on the 9th and my cards were reported ****** on the 12th May 2017. But the consultant failed to mention that it was the 9th of June and not MAY, but told me my cards could have been scanned before. She then put me through to ***** division where i spoke to a Marlon, who said he was going to call me back, but never did.

I made another call to the bank and spoke to another consultant ( Natalie), who then told me this is a serious case as she can see that the transactions were done almost a month after i blocked the cards. she then put me through to ***** division again , where i Spoke to a PAUL.

After speaking to Paul, he told me that he would open a case and an investigation would be made. My question to him was how long was this going to take and when would those transactions be reversed. he told me the investigation can take more than a week and they would revert back to me. I have told him that i dont care about their investigations , as this cards were reported ****** on the 12th of May.

Now my account is overdrawn, my wife is still not able to pick up my cards, even after i sent the bank a Power Of Attorney that is registered at the DEEDS OFFICE, giving her permission to handle all my banking transactions in South Africa. I was told by a complaints consultant ( SILINDILE), where i have lodged a formal complaint that i should use a form of E Wallet or money transfer to my family as they cannot help me.

Yet we were treated and are still being treated like we are the *********, while the REAL ********* who have my cards are able to use MY cards which i have BLOCKED.

I trust that this makes us South Africans more aware and more people come forward that have had similar issues with nedbank or even other banks, so something can be done about the way Banks deal with these matters.

This has been a nightmare for us with Nedbank, as every person we have spoken to from the time these cards were ****** could not give us one positive result. My cell phone bill came to R1900 for those calls i made from abroad on the 12th of May to the bank and now i will have to wait for the new bill to see what the charges were for the calls made yesterday the 23rd June 2017 to sort out a problem that should have already been sorted out by Nedbank on the 12th.

Hello,
I don't think it's advisable for me to disclose my ID no. And Acc number over this site. However, this is the case number for the ***** case opened.

It's seems as though Nedbank treats their professional banking customers as if they are the *********.
After opening a ***** case , I received an email today 27th May, stating I should sing and return an affidavit singed and stamped also by the commissioner of oaths.
How does the bank expect me to get a signed and stamped affidavit when I work on the oil fields of the middle East.
