Time Wasting Requests and Dragging out Process only to decline my application

My husband and I have recenty app**** for a home loan with Nedbank. We were asked to fill in several do***ents which we sent to them. Upon submission, they again requested an Excon Letter ( Which other banks did not know existed)- and again we were told this is the only roadblock between us and the loan. I spend the whole day going to different banks to find this letter. I then submitted this letter to them. I then recieved an SMS after almost 2 weeks that they got statements from my bank account. I was excited, thinking finally something will come of it. After 2 weeks of up and down and time wasting, they then decline saying I must settle my loan (short term with another bank ( Which I have not missed a payment for). What guarantee do I have that they will not come up with another excuse to decline. Secondly, other banks gave me home loans ( without all these hustles). This is something that is quite dissapointing to see from Nedbank who have advertised that loan approvals happen in only a few minutes. 2 weeks is a very long time and with these "go get this" and "go get that" to be declined is very disheartening to hear from this bank. I also know a friend in the exact same situation with Nedbank. I have googled an excon letter, and this letter is only given when handling foreign currency or if I am not based in South Africa. I am a resident of South Africa for the past 6 years and permanently employed in South Africa. My husband is a permanent resident as well. I appreciate not having my time wasted when people have pre-determined responses and drag it out after utilising people's time. This is very dissapointing from a bank that say "make things happen". Is this making things happen, or making dissapointments happen. And yes our joint income is sufficient to cover the payments. My reference number for case is ***8.

I hope this is not a matter of discouraging non South Africans from owning property in South Africa.
