Terrible, terrible service from Nedbank

Disturbingly poor service from Nedbank, once again.

What happened: I received a phone call, which I could hardly understand, from a male person claiming to be from Nedbank. He mentioned my name and the street I lived in, not the complex. I repeatedly asked that he email me with the details on my email account on record, as I cannot hear properly. He continued to repeat himself at a higher volume and what I understood was that my card(s) are blocked because of transfers to China.

I do not have Internet or Mobile Banking with Nedbank, so how is this even possible? I have never done business with China nor have I ever transferred money there. Clearly, something was wrong or someone was phishing for information, which I did not provide. I kept insisting he email me as I could not hear what else he said. I put the phone down and decided not to answer again and see whether an email arrives. It never did.

I emailed the Nedbank contact centre last week and having no response, decided to forward the message to the card division email I found online.

Personal Situation: I have multiple disabilities including that I am hard of hearing (it means partially deaf) am blind in one eye and have less than 28% vision in the other. I do not have transport, nor anyone to take me to a branch any longer. I have limited means at the moment.

Customer services issues: I received a reply from Njabulo Masondo, to contact the telephone numbers of the American Express Platinum Service. [Did he not read the query? I need all the information, telephone calls are not going to help much.]

Then I received a reply from Brentley Govender, saying that if I gave the caller information, I could have exposed my information. [No, I did not. I have an IT degree and studied IT security post-grad.]

Then I received an email from Trisha Ramsamooch, saying I must used the Nedbank money app and the webchat facility.

I donwloaded the app on my large phone and spent more than an hour getting the same uselesss information from Sthandiwe, Nokuthula, Melissa and a particularly insolent Viren, that the information is sensitive and I should go to the branch. why did I not specify my disability when I opened the card [I had one good eye left at the time and the macular generation developed later], why am I not using Mobile or Internet banking? [I have a cheque account with Standard Bank for decades and I use their Internet banking] and so on.

I rep**** to Trisha Ramsamooch's email and received a replay to phone the numbers for SAA card services. [After all, this is what it comes down to]

QUESTIONS I NEED ANSWERED:

1. Why is it so difficult to get service from Nedbank as a person with disabilities? 2. Why can someone not tell me whether *****ulant transfers happened on my accounts or not? If so - what now? 3. Are my accounts blocked? [I ordered a delivery from Woolworths last night and 3D secure seemed to work fine] 4. Why can I not log in to SMS banking to get my balances from *120*0013 as usual?
