Terrible client treatment
On 17th May 2025 we reported a burst pipe in our home to Nedbank insurance, they promptly sent a plumber and later an assessor for the damages caused. The laminated flooring had to be replaced as per the assessor’s report and contractor duly appointed and carried out the work. But, the quality of the workmanship was so poor that we firstly reported to the contractor, and when we could not get any help, escalated the matter to Nedbank. After some back and forth between us, the contractor and the bank, Nedbank said they would send the assessor to come and check. Nedbank advised us that the assessor says the floor was uneven hence the issues we reported. Strangely, the assessor who came in initially to assess the damage, the appointment contractor, and the assessor who said the floor was uneven is the same company. We have asked Nedbank, since they do not trust what we tell them nor the pictures we sent, to send an ‘independent’ assessor to assess the work. It has been weeks and still no assistance from Nedbank, we have been unable to fully utilise this room since we don’t when, if at all, an assessor may come for inspection. It’s a pity I’m unable to post pictures on this platform to show just how poor the workmanship has been.
