Taking money without authorization

I am very irate and angry right now as this morning I received an sms to state that R1005 has been taken off my account, which is a new Nedbank account, and I did not authorize or even know that this money was going to be taken off.

I have been unemployed for over 4 months and the little bit of money that came in through my account was for a temp job that was done during July to help support my family with rent as we are behind and going to lose our home.

I know I owe money and have advised all relevant departments from Nedbank of same as I have a loan and credit card I am paying off, but it seems that the Credit Card department can just do as they wish as they took this amount off my account without my knowledge and without my agreement as well.

I know my right as a consumer and they do not have the right to do this as it was not made known to me and I did not even agree on the amount. After calling the Credit Card Collections deparment this morning, and no, I did not put the phone down on you, I ran out of airtime as the recording would state I did advise you too. I was informed that they cannot do anything about it, which to me is bull. You were not allowed to take money off my account as you did not have my consent and I did not even know about the amount.

I want this money put back right now and then we can see from there to take this further. I do not make the same amount as I did before as I am not working on a full time basis as before and this will be on previous recordings as well.

I am tired of banks doing what they like and am in the right mind to leave Nedbank for good this time, would rather go to Standard Bank or FNB to be honest. Don't like the bank much but at least I know I will get better service there.

Best regards,
I received a call from a consultant from the Complaints department yesterday who was very nice and said she will try and help me to see if she can push to get me my money back, thank you very much for that.
However, I have still not heard anything from anyone as to what is going on and I need to pay rent on Saturday and the money that was taken out of my account without my authorization was supposed to have gone to rent.
I am irate that the banks are just allowed to do what they want to do because you bank with the same bank as where your account is and their automated systems do what they do. It is frustrating that the banks can just take your money without your approval or knowledge of it going to be taken, surely this cannot be a legal thing to do.
I also know as a consumer I should be able to make an agreement as to what I can afford and not just have to settle to what the bank says I need to pay.
I am going to close all, and I mean all my accounts with Nedbank this weekend and rather go to another bank as I am not happy with what is going on. This is also not the first time it happened as the last time money used to be taken double in a month and randomly without my approval as well.
The only way I will consider staying with Nedbank is if my money is refunded to me and an agreement is made between myself and the relevant department.

I would like to thank Cody from the complaints department at Nedbank as she managed to sort the issue out for me and an agreement has been made.
