Student account - high interest

I'm so disappointed in Nedbank.

I opened my daughter's account a couple of years ago. She lost her card and when we went to the bank we were told that she could not withdraw as she must have an ID. We actually wanted to close the account . There was over R 400 in her account and they wanted to charge her R 130 for a card to withdraw money in her account and she needed an ID.

She did not have an ID at the time.

I'm now receiving SMS's that this account is overdrawn and a deposit is required.

This is a student account. How can this account be overdrawn ?
