Slow, o so very slow

I have been having trouble with Nedbank for quite some time now since applying for home finance through them. At first when everything was done online things went great, but once I started talking to people it got really bad. They are just so terribly slow. Everything takes at least a week. Then you have to reply and it takes another week. They spent about 4 week going back and forth just on the clarity of the chin of my wife's ID which is literally the bizarre-est thing ever to hold anything up. Ever.

So I opted for the bundled insurance as I hoped it would speed things up. But alas now I can’t get it cancelled. After they valuated the property and quoted me, it appears that someone got the facts wrong. Having taken ownership of the property they are now charging me double. So I got other insurance at less than the initial rate including that right next to the house thatch they had an issue with (as the person from Nedbank advised me to do)

But after phoning them at the very beginning of July I got to speak to someone who could help me after two phone calls and probably about an hour on hold in total with one very confused person every now and again who is trying to find someone who knows how to cancel something. Yeah-right, like that’s never happened before. And then they never sent the forms. So I emailed them for it. One week later: Nothing. Then I complained on their website and one week later, I got the form. So it’s now going on another two weeks and nothing has happed. I am sure that maybe they did cancel it or maybe they are thinking it over or not at work or something. I don’t really know or care anymore. It’s all just a slow and steady mess. So I probably should fight for my money back because I would never have taken the insurance had they quoted me properly. And I have been really nice and calm about all of this. But it’s like that joke Trevor Noah made about the music on hold where you just give up phoning the council about the power outage. You win this time. But when customers start leaving in droves, you’ll know why.

Don't spend all that money advertising and brand building if you are just going to burn it with the worst service all round. Just give up and go home. There is no hope.

I say this with the utmost calmness and conviction. Do not bank here. I have banked at all of their competition and I can promise you it only gets better than this. Even when those guys fail miserably, and they do, they still make up for it in less than a week including the back and forth bits.
