****-show service
I have never witnessed such a ****-show service in my entire life shame!!!!!!
So on 29th June 2023 I opened a new bank account with Nedbank and 2 weeks later I received my 2 cards which I have been using since then.
Today 25th Oct 2023 I went to stores to buy as per normal, then to my suprise my card was rejected at the paypoint machine (such an embarrassment to say the least).
I immediately checked the app and I saw "pending activation" and this is where my nightmare began. I immediately went to the branch to enquire, the consultant(Tanya) from Durban Central tried to explain to that this is FICA verification, however the explanation did not make any sense,
Then she **** and assured me that an email has been sent personally by her to the relevant department and she then proceeded to provide me with a callcentre number for follow-ups (***)
I then called the callcentre number and spoke with Zoliswa, to my suprise was informed that the verification was now completed and was outdated so I needed to visit the branch again.
As soon as I arrive I went straight to Tanya and she was super confused because she had just sent the updated documents few hours earlier in the morning. She then went to the manager's office for some time and came back to inform that her superior has now taken over my case and has sent a follow up to the relevant department and that was another lie.
Few hours later I called the callcentre for feedback and I spoke to Dwayne and he was very apologetic and promised to sort my issue out, he then assured me that an email has been sent by him to have my case prioritized but that was also a lie.
I then called few hours later around 5pm and spoke with Nkosikhona who **** by saying the only department that can sort my issue out is the operations department and pretended to transfer my call to the operations department, so he thought I will drop the call but I kept on hold, only for him to inform that he has been informed that the operations department knock off at 16:30.
Therefore I was informed my account has been locked today and it would take up to 48hours to be unlocked
My questions to the entire Nedbank employees is: 1.Shouldn't my documents be verified as per the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001 when I was opening the new account?
2. Why did it take the institution 4 months in order for them to verify my documents and account?
3. Since they decided for lock my account today, who is going to carry the costs of unpaid debit orders, unpaid creditors and other unnecessary expenses?
I have never been this embarrassed in my entire life, I even had to ask my colleagues to assist me with money for lunch and other essential necessities.
I really do not think Nedbank employees understand the level of inconvenience and shame this situation has brought into my life!!!!!!!!!
As soon as my account is active I will definitely take my business somewhere where I will feel appreciated
