Shocking service from MFC (Nedbank)
I made a request for MFC to freeze my account in July as I had lost both my jobs as a result of Covid-19 and the lockdown. After following up with MFC, one of the consultants confirmed that my application had been received and that I would get a response in two days. Although I had received an autoreply, I needed to make sure that the financing company was in possession of the necessary documentation to seamlessly process my application. When I received the email requesting me to indicate whether they can proceed with the approval, I responded to say that they may do so. I also called MFC to check if everything was in order. One of the consultants confirmed that it had been approved and assured me that no debit order would go off on my account. I decided to make a follow-up call, and another consultant by the name of Dustine Burns requested an affidavit and suggested an arrangement that was different from the one I agreed to. I responded to him by quoting the email I received from MFC. Surprisingly, the debit order went off and I have since incurred charges of over R200 as a result of this.
In between following up I had countless calls (so many calls!!!) from consultants harassing me (I would get, on average close to 10 calls a week), and every single time I speak to each of them I would have to explain myself that the application was approved. I also made follow up calls to MFC to check on how far they are in the process. To my surprise, a number of consultants from the collections department indicated that my application was rejected. I was shocked as I have it in writing that this was approved. I tried to explain to them and provided the exact date.
I have had calls dropped on me by the consultants, and yesterday a gentleman called me from MFC. He was so rude to me and dropped the call on my ear.
To this end I am utterly shocked, disappointed and disgusted in how MFC has ill-treated me as a client. In fact, this is an understatement. I was hoping that MFC would afford me the courtesy but it’s becoming more evident that they lack empathy and are not considerate when clients face such challenges.
