Shocking bank charges for children

Went to nedbank last month in centurion mall to renew my and my granddaughter’s debit cards. I had to spend 40 minutes just to renew the cards! I have a debit order every month where money gets transferred into my granddaughters account so she can pay for her swimming and dance lessons herself. I’m trying to teach her to be responsible and independent. When she went to withdraw her money she couldn’t withdraw as she always does as there was a sundry charge of R135!! How ridiculous is it to take such a big amount from a 5 year old and try and explain why she couldn’t pay her dance!! Should I rather seek alternative banking at another bank as I think she is being exploited!!
