SENT FROM PILLAR TO POST
Dear Nedbank, I recently changed the main account into which I receive my salary from another bank to Nedbank, with whom I have a home loan at the beginning of July. At the end of July, Nedbank did not deduct the home loan amount. I went to my nearest branch to sort it out, where I was told to call the call centre. I did that on the 31st of August, to make sure they double deduct both the 1st of August and 1st of September amounts, only to be told the collections department had already left for the day, and that I should call the collections department on Monday. How is it collections when I didn't miss a payment...someone at Nedbank forgot to link my home loan account to my new account, which, ironically is a Nedbank account? How is it a client's job to remind Nedbank staff to do their job? When I asked the call centre agent to give my details to someone in the right department so that they can call me on Monday as I will be travelling and might forget due to my schedule...she had the audacity to tell be there was nothing she could do outside of giving me an email address where I can now chase the bank to "collect" their money!!! I don't understand why when I visited the bank, no one could assist, and why the *****ic call centre agent couldn't send an internal email for someone for Nedbank to call me...IS THAT TOO MUCH TO EXPEXT FROM A BANK IN THE 21ST CENTURY... I wish I had never changed from my original bank.
