******* on line banking app and support service
So Nedbank has launched its new all singing, all dancing on line banking app. Does it work, is it easy to use, is it intuitive? Answers? NO NO NO. Today I wanted to pay my annual donation to SARS, so I eventually find the correct page on the app where I can do this. Enter all the details including my account number, tax number, the amount etc and click on "Pay" and what happens? Up comes in red at the bottom of the page "Narrative Invalid". Nothing to indicate what PART of what I have entered on that page the app doesn't like, and no way on THAT page of correcting or changing anything - one must go right back to the first page of the app and start again. Hopeless. So I phone ***, the on line banking help line, and listen in MY time at MY call cost whilst Nedbank tries to convince with its irritating messages me what a wonderful bank it is ete etc etc. Eventually someone answers, I explain what is happening and he has no solution as what I have entered on the payment page all seems to be correct to him. But according to Nedbank it isn't. So this Nedbank wallah says he'll put me through to someone who can solve the problem. Guess what? I wait and wait and wait listening to more "aren't we fantastic" recordings. And then because it is coming up to 5.30pm I get cut off. No payment made, 10 minutes on the phone, no resolution. ****** marvellous. Yes, like everyone else out there I know service delivery in this benighted country is sliding inexorably down the drain, but leading banks such as Nedbank (their claim not mine) should know better and deliver a heck of a lot better. And get your so called IT specialists to design a banking app that WORKS and is INTUITIVE for Pete's sake. And the greatest insult? I have been a Nedbank account holder for well over 40, repeat 40 years. And they do this to clients like me. Thank you Nedbank for a truly pathetic performance.
