Rotten service at Nedbank

About a month ago, I app**** the local branch of Nedbank for the opening of a deceased estate account (estate account) into which monies due and payable to the beneficiary may be paid by an insurance company. Without an estate account, the insurance cannot pay the monies to any other account. I was requested to provide the bank, amongst other things, with clear copies of the IDs of the deceased and the executor. I duly comp**** with all the banks requirements although the bank

1. NEVER reverted to me with its requirements which means that each time I had to call the branch and request progress in the matter.

This means that if I didnt call, I would never know what was happening.

After three weeks, I requested of the bank official to give me details of head office who I may contact directly and enquire about any delays. This was my 3rd call to the branch. The bank official responded that this was not possible as only the branch could enquire.

I then waited on another week after which I received an e-mail forwarded to me, presumably from head office that

2. the executors ID was not clear and that

3. the bank required the DECEASED's acccount details to transfer monies into my account.

I immediately called the branch and the official who also admitted that he did not understand the e-mail, would revert to me in an hour. After an hour, I again called the branch and spoke to the official who said that he would revert to me by close of business today, and the fact that the bank manager was attending on it as he (the bank manager) was informed about it.

I even mentioned the fact that I would now have to approach a relevant consumer forum. Obviously this meant nothing to the branch official as I clearly mentioned this in a response to the e-mail allegedly from head office, including the part of the e-mail received from the insurance company indicating the need for an estate account to be opened.

This last call was easily the seventh call excluding several e-mails requesting progress on the matter which were made to the bank after the bank refuses to return my calls after promising to do so.

From No.3 above, it is clear that Nedbank's *********** (and thats putting it very lightly) staff have no understanding of it's clients requirements.

Yet this is the bank which advertises itself as one that makes things happen!! Lies!

I will NEVER recommend anyone to this bank.
