retained card due to atm closure

stopped at nedbank atm to withdraw cash. did the transaction as usual and as the atm was counting the money to dispense the atm doors close, retaining my cash and card. NO WHERE on or near the atm is any notice whatsoever that the atm closes at 22:00. no one at the call center could tell me what time it would open. went back the following morning no cash, no card. funds was reversed but my card was retained. at the nedbank branch they say i should contact my bank, cancel my card and request a new one. a new card at my bank costs R180. nedbank say they will not pay for it. i refuse to carry the cost for nedbank's lazzieness.
