Request to move debit order IGNORED!
I received an sms on 4 Mar advising that my home loan debit order would be moved to 19 March due to the public holidays. As I would not have sufficient funds on that day due to my salary not having being paid, I called in immediately to the number provided and advised that my debit order should only go off on 22 March 2016. I was assured that the debit order was moved to 22 March. On Thursday 17 March, I received another sms to remind me that my debit order would be going off on 19 March. I promptly called in again to query this and was assured that there was an error with the sms having been sent to me because my debit order had been moved to 22 March. I emphasised on the call that by no means should the debit order be presented early as I would not have sufficient funds and that I had had a similar experience with Nedbank previously where the debit order went off early.

Today I received an sms from my bank to advise that the debit order had indeed been presented despite all of the above!

What was the point of communicating?!
