REPAIR OF GEYSER: EXCESS FEE: J T & S TRUTER: POLICY NUMBER ***: NEDBANK HOME INSURANCE

Good day

A claim was registered on 31 March 2024. Claim number C***.

The job was allocated to Starplex Maintenance on 1 April 2024. Order number C***.

Starplex replaced the thermostat on 1 April 2024 and I paid the excess fee of R500.00.

I phoned them a few hours later and informed them that the geyser was not heating the water.

They replaced the Flange gasket and the element on 1 April 2024 but the geyser was still not heating the water.

They eventually fixed the geyser on 2 April 2024 by replacing one of the parts they replaced on 1 April 2024 as it was faulty.

On 23 April 2024 they sent an invoice to me informing me that I owe R569.73 to Starplex as an additional excess fee.

I have also contacted Nedbank Insurance telephonically and spoke to "Nana" on 27 April 2024 at 10:18 AM as no feedback was received on my emails. She informed me that the excess amount applicable to this case is R500.00.

The contract clearly stipulated the there is only an excess fee of R500.00.

My emails dated 23 and 26 April as well as on 1 and 3 May 2024 in the above-mentioned regard have reference. It can be mentioned that the mails on 23 and 26 April were sent to Nedbank Insurance and the mails on 1 and 3 April to Nedbank Insurance as well as to Nebank Compliance and the Public Officer. I have requested written feedback on my e mails dated 1 and 3 May 2024. No feedback was received from Nedbank.

Your assistance to resolve the matter will be appreciated.

Regards
