Refund
I am lodging a formal complaint regarding an unresolved ATM deposit dispute and your attempt to close my case without resolving the outstanding amount.
Transaction Details - Date of deposit: 02 May 2026 - Amount deposited: R3,700 - Issue: The ATM switched off during the transaction. I received no SMS notification and the funds did not reflect in my account.
Timeline of my attempts to resolve: 1. 02 May 2006 – I called customer service to report the failed deposit. 2. 04 May 2006 (morning) – I received a credit of R1,710 with a reference matching my card number. I confirmed with others that no one had sent me money, so this was clearly Nedbank’s partial refund. I immediately called to report it was still short. 3. 11 May 2026 at 14:10 – I called during working hours. The consultant confirmed the payment was short and told me to wait 3–7 working days* for the outstanding balance. 4. After 3 working days – I called again. I was given a new reference number and told to wait 7–21 days for the remaining amount. 5. 30 May 2026 – I received an email from a consultant stating that “according to ATM CCTV I have been refunded” and that my case is being closed.
*Outstanding amount:* R3,700 – R1,710 = *R1,990* still missing from my account.
*My objection to case closure:* CCTV footage cannot verify the amount of cash I physically received from the ATM. CCTV shows me at the machine, not the denomination or total of cash dispensed. Relying on CCTV to close a cash dispute is not acceptable.
