Referred to Loss Adjusters Oeschger Enterprises-no response or feedback ON CLAIM!!! Bond Account No: ***Policy No: ***5

We suffered hail damage to our external residential roof on the 9th of January 2016.

We notified Nedbank Insurance approximately the 26th of January 2016 when we lodged the claim. They advised the claim had been received.

They referred the matter to the Loss Adjusters Oeschger Enterprises who sent out contractors.

They repaired the external ceiling and internal ceiling where there were damages. We sent an email and pictures to Oeschger Enterprises regarding the poor workmanship on the 4th of April 2016, these queries as follows:

· We had to clean up after the contractors every time that they left for the day,

· We had to repair gutter clips where the workers had stood on the gutters and broke the clips out,

· I have been cleaning the tiles, rock art etc. of waterproofing ‘glue” and roof paint ever since the contractors left.

Oeschger Enterprises responded: Thank you very much – will revert back shortly.

Oeschger Enterprises UNDERTOOK to have the external roof repaired again because of the poor workmanship, Flaky and Patchy Paint. Since then 3 seperate contracting companies have been sent out. Everytime we have had to take off work to be there. After numerous email and correspondence, still no feedback with regards to when and who will be completing the repairs.

On the 26th of April 2016 Oeschger Enterprises responsed: Quote was received yesterday, the assessor is busy with the quote and feedback will be provided once she is done.

STILL NO FEEDBACK??!!!!

Nedbank sent assessors out to check if purlins were damaged or not.
It was established that they weren’t damaged on the 21st of June.
Authorisation was given by Nedbank who appointed a contractor to repair our roof on 22 June.
A meeting was held at our residence on the 4th of July between the contractors, Oescher Loss Adjusters and ourselves.
Contractors commenced work 12 July.
Extensive work carried out for more or less 1 week with excessive use of our electricity and water.
Once the roof was stripped, it was discovered that due to very poor workmanship over the past 3 years by Nedbank appointed contractors, the roof is severely damaged with large holes due to water proofing patching being placed over and over again over old patches without removing original patching 1st.
The contractors/workers stopped working on 19 July and referred the issue to the lost adjusters Oescher Enterprises.
Oescher claimed to have had a meeting with Nedbank as to the way forward.
Since then we have had severe storms and wind in Krugersdorp.
The contractors covered the roof with plastic sheeting which was tied with ropes to our burglar proofing and stuck to facia boards with duct tape, also causing damage. We have continuously had to climb onto the roof to re-tie and move the plastic.
Bricks were also placed on top of the plastic sheeting on the roof which with very strong winds blew the bricks onto our outside ceramic tiles of our patio and back and into our swimming pool, causing further damage and cracked tiles. The contractors came out again to place more plastic on the roof which after re-tying again has blown off leaving half of the roof uncovered and exposed. Plastic blew into our swimming pool and neighbour’s gardens. The plastic sheeting flaps constantly in the wind making horrific sounds during the night disrupting our sleep. Once bricks were hurled from the roof, further damage was caused to our internal ceiling with the rain in Krugersdorp 1st and 2nd August.
Our alarm company also had to come out to deactivate outside alarm system due to the plastic sheeting blowing off the roof and setting the alarm off continuously, this becoming a security risk.
Contractors then suggested that they remove the plastic and patch over the obvious holes to prevent further damage to the house ceiling and internal structures and fittings.
Contractors contacted Oescher via email on the 2nd of August as to this suggestion.
We have phoned Oescher on numerous occasions but received no response.
We have had many empty promises and haven’t heard from Oescher or Nedbank for more than 3 weeks.
We have again sent an email to Pamela Pillay at Nedbank this morning and received no reply.
We have also contacted Oescher this morning and have been promised a reply but nothing yet.
We cannot describe our frustration and put into words how this situation is affecting our lives.
It is a huge inconvenience and is affecting every aspect of our home life.
A home is a place of refuge and at this point we are so annoyed and frustrated.
I cannot understand why a resolution hasn’t been made and why it has been a problem for 3 years.
We have NEVER received such poor service and are deeply distressed by this.
