RECKLESS LENDING
During the month on June, due to the whole COvid-19 and some other financial changes I had to undergo, I decided to take up a consolidation loan with Nedbank. as per their "Hassle Free" promise they assisted in doing the consolidation loan, I was approved and life continued. my older creditor had still sent communications to me early July advising on debt relieve and so on - thinking nothing of it, I let it be because of awareness I believe. Suddenly I get a statement from my older creditor of which I which not to discredit saying still owe them money. Now in terms of "Hassle free", I believe to be the banks responsibility to at the VERY LEAST do the due diligence to be sure they have correct settlement amount as at the date of application. I cannot accept that Nedbank, who claim to be world class at managing risk cannot manage my risk as they client, a client of 13 years mind you during this time of need. The complaints resolution manager Olivia Mike was reluctant to hear me out and point to the contract that I have signed and said the onus is on me to make sure that the figures are correct, I mean it is so easy to request for your statements from other institutions with only my consent and it would be the most up to date figures and the application can carry on - but for a settlement figure on debt that I am responsible for elsewhere the same cannot not be done. instead Nedbank sends me the settlement letters that they have generated from the figures found on the credit bureau. Now being a credit Nedbank should know that balances on the credit bureau update every 30 days, it is therefore irresponsible on Nedbank's part to base their financial advice on information knowing it is not current and then putting in fine print that its my responsibility to make sure the figures are correct. with the correct figures I would have made a better decision to return to Nedbank, with the correct figures that I at the time thought the be correct as advised by Nedbank I had peace of mind. I don't have peace of mind now because Olivia Mike said I must pay Nedbank their R6000+ amount and I must see myself with my older creditor as well which is also R6000+ I mean is this really "Hassle free"?????
as a solution from my side I had asked that the personal loan from Nedbank be delayed by only one month so that my older creditor can be catered for due to reckless lending by Nedbank. you cant claim that this process is "Hassle free" and give financial advice that is not sound because you do not use real time data to advise your clients - ABSOLUTLEY RIDICULOUS - I NEED A REAL SOLUTION - NOT FOR YOU TO SAY ITS MY FAULT WHEN YOU ARE THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTION CLAIMING TO BE WORLD CLASS AT MANAGING RISK AND OFFERING A HASSLE FREE SERVICE - meanwhile back at the ranch families must suffer because of your incorrect advise during COVID-19 when money is absolutely tight.
