Really Nedbank?
How hard can it really be? So I've settled my personal loan account with Nedbank on the 6th of July and then phoned them the following Monday to get my account with them closed and receive my paid up letter. I was told it would take 3 business days, but 4 days after I was phoned and said that they owe me a refund and can't close the account before the refund is not done. All fair and well, I gave my banking account details and ended the call. Come the following week, I phoned again to follow up on my account closure and ended up being transferred to 4 different people before finally reaching a person that could help me. Now I had to forward them bank statements and ID copies before they can process it. I did that, phoned them 2 days after sending them the documents to find out the progress and then they checked my account "Oh okay. I see we've received it. I will forward this to our refund department and it will take 5 to 10 business days before the refund will be completed and then we can start with closing your account and send the paid up letter to you." So I can safely say that after the refund is done in about 2 weeksn it would take another 3 business days again for the closure and who knows how long for the paid up letter to be issued. So basically more than a month after settling my account. The reason I'm so impatient is that this was my last account to settle on my name and I need the paid up letter to receive my clearance certificate and I'm paying a company now mostly to play the waiting game until Nedbank decides to pick up some speed.
