Private Client / Home Loan / Credit Department Useless!!!!

So in 2022 I decided to explore more banking options in Nedbank. This lead me to become a private client. I was assigned my private banker, with the idea that I was planning to buy a house in the beginning of 2023. -Private Banker privileges-. So as time come to buy my house, I informed my personal banker about the bond originator handling my purchase. I have not received any correspondence at the time from the personal banker. So, the originator went ahead as she could not get correspondence either. With being a first time home owner, Nedbank sells you this massive great story about their home loan options. After everything was handled and my bond was registered, I queried my 1% cash on my bond. Now all of a sudden I receive correspondence, I will not receive my cash back - reason I used a bond originator and not the online platform. (Private bank = should have informed me). That being said, I had to pay in R6050.00 as they did not cater for the "bond initiation fee" when my bond fees were calculated. FYI - this I only found out the day I went to sign my bond documents at the Attorneys.

About 4 months later I contacted my personal banker regarding a further loan on my bond, this was for renovations as the house the bought had so fixer upper needs, she advised no problem we will proceed with the application. It took them almost 5 weeks with a very poor result: Week 1 - Application declined. Affordability according to their system. Week 2 - Application declined. Affordability according to their system. Week 3 - Application declined. Affordability according to their system. So by now my pot is boiling over, as any normal person that can do basic mathematics, can see somewhere someone is loosing the plot. Within this week I started phoned home loans department, credit departments and any other department you can think of. Eventually it came across that I was incorrectly listed on their system as on debt review. By this time is was boiling with anger. As they took another week to resolve the internal problem. Week 4 - I have just about had it now, I went onto my mobile app and got a personal loan of R130 000. I app**** at ABSA Bank and got a credit card of R60 000. I app**** at Standard Bank and got a credit card of R30 000. "Weird how someone that is on debt review can get all of these credit within a week" So after this, I sent all these credit agreements to Nedbank credit manager and asked them that simple question. HOW? Week5&6 - This was escalated to management and they decided to only give me a further loan for the R130 000 personal loan I took out. FYI - this cost me R14000 in Attorney fees.

So now in 2024, I advised them that I did not forget about the situation in 2023 and I need some form of assistance. One would assume they would have learned from the mistakes in the past. All I can say is, this time I am sitting with another ********. From incorrect settlement figures to attorney fees not being added.

As a first time home owner this was not a pleasant experience.
