Poor service
On Saturday, 11 January 2025, I contacted Nedbank telephonically to inquire about a personal loan. I was assisted by an agent n whose full name I do not recall but whose email address is ***. She assisted me with the loan application process, asked all relevant questions, and I provided honest and transparent responses throughout.
One of the key questions she asked was whether I was permanently employed, to which I clearly stated that I am temporarily employed, with my contract ending in August 2026. After submitting all the required documents as requested, Tumi assured me that I qualified for a personal loan of R100,000. However, I specified that I only required R11,000 for a loan term of six months, which she acknowledged and proceeded with the loan application.
After waiting six days for the loan to be processed, I received a email stating that my loan was declined due to not being permanently employed. This decision is both frustrating and disappointing, as I was completely transparent during the application process. If Tumi had been upfront and informed me from the beginning that permanent employment was a non-negotiable requirement, I would have immediately explored other options instead of wasting valuable time.
This poor service has now caused unnecessary delays, affecting important plans I had in place for the loan amount. I am extremely dissatisfied with the unprofessional handling of my application and the misinformation I received. This experience has not only damaged my trust in your services but also left me questioning the competency of your staff.
I expect a formal explanation and a resolution regarding this matter. If my concerns are not addressed, I will be left with no choice but to share my experience publicly and reconsider my relationship with Nedbank, including closing my account.
