Poor Customer Service Experience at Nedbank Bridge City
Dear Nedbank Customer Service Team,
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the poor customer service my elderly father and I experienced at the Nedbank Bridge City branch today. We visited the branch to sort out his bank card issue, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by the unhelpful and uncaring attitude of the staff.
As we entered the branch, I informed the ladies at the door that my father is elderly and medically unfit to wait for a long time. I expected some understanding and accommodation, but instead, they seemed completely unbothered. They pointed to a chair and told me to ask my father to sit there while I went to stand in the long queue. It was clear that they didn't care about my father's condition or the fact that I was accompanying him to the bank.
When I tried to explain that my father is not capable of sitting alone for an extended period, they insisted that he needed to go in alone and that I should stand outside. It was clear that they were not willing to make any exceptions or provide any assistance. My father has suffered a stroke and has memory issues, which made it difficult for him to understand what was happening. The staff seemed completely oblivious to his needs and didn't offer any support or guidance.
To make matters worse, another elderly lady who was also waiting to be attended to was left sitting on the floor because she couldn't stand anymore. It was heartbreaking to see her in that state, and it was clear that the staff was not equipped to handle the needs of elderly customers.
I am extremely disappointed in the service we received at Nedbank Bridge City. As a bank, it is your responsibility to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all customers, regardless of their age or abilities. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of that standard.
I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and take immediate action to address the issues we faced. I would appreciate it if you could provide some form of compensation or recognition for the poor service we received. I would also like to request that you provide additional training for your staff on how to handle elderly customers and provide a more supportive and accommodating environment.
