Poor Communications

Last week I went to the Nedbank Phoenix branch to withdraw R1000 from the Atm and then rushed off to a busibess lunch appointment with a client .I received an incontact message to confirm that R1000 was withdrawn and gave me the available balance. But a few seconds later I received yet another sms to confirm the very same transaction amount ,except this time the avaliable balance was R1000 less.I immediately rushed out iof my meeting to rush back to the bank to report the matter and customer service instructed me to call the head office namely the incontact dept and cheque account services.I spent a good 30min explaining it to 3 different individuals including a team leader all of whom assured me that they would accelerate the matter to a most senior person before close of business.I waited and waited till about 15h00 and received no calls. After finishing my appointment I reluctantly went to Shoprite to purchase a few items and lo and behold the same thing occurred to me.

I called Nedbank customer service again to complain and they told me that this was a system glitch and that it was a national problem.I told them at this time that I would spread news of their incompetence, inefficiency and poor service on radio and tv and their response was that they promise to get a senior person to make contact with me and email a formal apology.Well that was last Friday and the same problem happened to me again and to date no-one has shown me the common courtesy to call me. I would like to note that if they can't correct this matter with me then what about the countless many disgruntled clients nationwide, especially helpless senior citizens that are affected by this.

I will pursue my course of action and take this to the media without further delay.

Eon Hart

Durban.
