Policy rejected
My late husband had taken out a BondAbility policy with Nedbank. My husband was disabled when he took out the policy with Nedbank and am certain that Nedbank was fully aware of his condition and his disability was the cause of his death. After my husband passed on in 2016 we were living in a house that belonged to the mine while we rented out the house we had ensured with Nedbank. 3 months after my husband passed, we had to move out of the mines house and we moved into the house we rented out with my children. Am unemployed and was struggling to pay for the bond, I then contacted Nedbank regarding the policy in order to secure the house from being repossessed by the bank (standard bank). Nedbank however denied or rejected my claim and their reason was because of my husbands disability.
I’ve reached out for assistance from the ombudsman but have had no response from them. I was summoned by Standard Bank to court around September this year and the judge has mercy on me and gave me time till next year to try sort out the case regarding the house.
Am stranded, frustrated and do not know what to do next.
