PLATINUM CREDIT CARD for what???

Having a PLATINUM CREDIT CARD offered to you does not mean that you are financially in a position to afford the credit limit or any other credit facilities one may require from a financial institution.

This I learnt the hard way. On the 17th December 2020 I made an application for a student loan at Nedbank at The Atrium. My sales consultant was Mr M. Moodley. All necessary documents requested were provided. On the 23rd December 2020 I picked up my PLATINUM CREDIT CARD from an inexperienced Teller...who ordered me another MASTERCARD!!!

To my dismay, today, 28th December 2020 I received an SMS notification advising me that my student loan was declined due to AFFORDABILITY!!! This from the same institution that just presented me with a PLATINUM CREDIT CARD!!! I am dumbfounded that Nedbank can offer me a credit limit and charge me exorbitant fees for a credit card of that stature and decline me for a student loan for a child with 9 distinctions.

People are not always wise to the workings of banks due to telesales consultants but today I learnt a valuable lesson.
