Pestering about upgrading cards

Me and my husband's credit cards expired in August 2015. Before renewal we were being pestered by Nedbank to upgrade to either gold, platinum or American Express cards. I have a gold credit card and my husband has the ordinary green one. We are on the verge of retiring and can't see the need for upgrading. But now, 3 months later and 3 years before the new cards will expire, we have been pestered AGAIN for the past weeks. I told the lady who called me earlier this week that I am not young anymore and that the gold card is perfectly good for me and she told me she understood. In the meantime, someone got hold of my husband at work and he agreed to be upgraded to a gold card. This morning we received the sms and saw that a MasterCard has been delivered to our branch, 2nd sms telling us an Amex card has been delivered. The \MasterCard"looked fishy to me because our credit cards are and have always been Visa and then I googled \""Amex\"" and saw that that is actually a gold American Express card???!!!! My husband says no-one said anything about American Express - HE DOES NOT WANT AN AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD WITH THE EXTRA COST! Please call him at work and sort it out."""
