Painful reversal of funds process

so the other day I sent out money from my standard bank account to my Nedbank credit card which happened to have an outstanding payment. Unfortunately I swapped the 2 numbers on my credit card around meaning now the money has no where to go, and as we know they're systems should be smart enough to re-route back to my standard bank account. I called standard bank even though I knew they couldn't help me but they advised me on some steps. I went to a Nedbank branch where I was rudely told to wait 72 hours for the system to reverse the funds back, if it doesn't happen, then I should go investigate with standard bank. Yet standard bank keeps sending me to back to Nedbank, Nedbank back to standard bank. I am utterly fed up with this. If I had a choice, I would close all these accounts and keep money under my bed. An innocent mistake like this is causing me so much frustration.
