Out of pocket thanks to Nedbank's ridiculous mobi wallet
I had an electrical problem that an electrician fixed. To pay for his services I paid R750 to his mobile number. So that's when the problems started. Apparently, he created a mobi wallet sometime back and the money was there. Except everything that he tried to do would not let him login to the wallet. After multiple phone calls he was told that the problem was on Nedbank's side. Then Nedbank sent the man to Home Affairs for fingerprint verification, which leads me to believe that his details were **********ly used to create his mobi wallet. Since I still owed him for his services, I had paid him again. So now, my R750 is stuck somewhere where it cannot be retrieved and I'm out of pocket for close to a grand and noone can help me. To add insult to injury, I was charged a R10 fee for this 'service'. I don't think this is acceptable, I have tried to speak to a lifestyle banking consultant, but they apparently can't help me. What's the point of having a platinum account when I'm essentially denied the service of being able to recall a payment? I can do it with other banks, but Nedbank is apparently not allowed to refund money from their own account. No thank you, will be looking to move all my accounts to another bank as soon as I can.
