Not allowed to open account for my daughter

I went to the Nedbank at the Musgrave Centre to open a Nedbank 4me account for my 5 year old daughter and they refused because my name is not on her birth certificate. I even offered to do an affidavit to state that I am indeed the father but they also don't accept it. My daughter uses her mother's surname and my name is not on her birth certificate because according to our culture I have to pay what is called 'intlawulo' for my daughter to change her surname to mine. She currently lives with her grandmother (my mother) and the account was going to assist for me to be able to deposit money which could be used for my daughter's needs at school. I have anticipated leaving Nedbank for a long time and I think now is the time to really close my credit card and investment account, and then later also close my cheque account. I have used Nedbank since 2008 and this year it's all coming to an end.
