No perks, limited perks or not sure perks!

I am a private client with this bank. I will be traveling overseas in December and will (or was hopoing to) be using the complimentary lounge asccess that comes as a benefit to being such a client. On their site, it states that I can invite a guest to the lounge. But, their information is unclear as to how that works. After calling the contact centre, I am told that the guest has to have their bank card LINKED to my accoount!!!!

Firstly, that is totally bizarre to expect that, secondly, if the guest has to have a private client account to access the lounge, how is that person then my guest???

Maybe I am just plain stupid or something does not add up!!!!
