No consent given, increased premiums, delayed cancellation
I was contacted by MFC with information regarding a new policy and I did not give my consent to take out the policy. Next thing I know my monthly premium has increased by R655,00. I have not received any documentation from MFC either and so I have no idea who is taking my money and what I am getting for it.
I contacted MFC to cancel the policy last month. I then see this morning that another increased debit order has been deducted from my account. I then contacted MFC again this morning to investigate and I have needed to log another cancellation.
The lady at MFC mentioned that the cancellation takes up to 21 working days. I am unfortunately not feeling very confident that your company will cancel the policy in time, before the next debit order, as this is my second attempt at cancellation and refund inquiry.
I am quite shocked that MFC has shared my banking details with the insurance company who holds the policy. I understand that you are all connected, but I NEVER gave the company consent and I NEVER gave them my banking details. I trust MFC to keep my personal information safe and I am double protected with the POPIA act, yet I am R1310,00 short and my trust in MFC has been broken.
Please could you send me an email with written confirmation of the cancelled policy and written confirmation of the full refund back into my FNB account.
Please attend to this matter urgently. This is a huge violation of the POPIA act as you have shared my personal details with external companies.
