Never Use Nedbank!!!

They have the worst customer service and do not stick to the information they tell you or their terms and conditions set!

Scenario one: It had all started with me requesting a simple bank statement that shows my savings accounts separately. Firstly I had tried the call centre to which they were unable to assist me and advised I go into a branch to sort this out. When I went into the branch they told they ended up calling the call centre like I had done and got to the same point as me. They then went on to advise me that the branch uses the same system as their app that I use at home (What is the point of the branch then if they can do the same things I can do through my app). I ended up escalating this to management within their support centre and had to give them a solution rather than them coming up with a solution for me. Even after giving them a solution they were unable to follow through and help!

Second scenario: I had requested that my wife gets full access to my accounts so we started off in the branch where they had advised we would need a general power of attorney. This is what we did and returned a week later with the power of attorney and so they started processing our request and upon completion they had advised that my wife now has full access to my account and can do the same things as me. Guess what this was not the case as when I had asked my wife to go close one of my account the bank had told her that she cannot do it and that I would need to go in to do it. This was after we had been told that she will have access.

Scenario three: I had gone into a branch to close my 32 day notice account to which I was told I must just go through the app and put in notice to withdraw the full amount. I did this in front of the consultant and once done I asked if this means it will now be closed to which I was told yes it will be closed once the funds clear on day 32. when day 32 came across I had noticed that the account was still open and some interest had been paid into the account even though I was told this would not happen. When I tried to the withdraw these funds I was told it would take 32 days so instead of that I had asked if I could do an immediate release of funds which in their terms and conditions it clearly states that I can do but will incur a fee. The consultant though told me I cannot immediately withdraw the funds and even after I had told them I can and would incur a fee and am more than happy to do that the consultant still disagreed with me and would not assist me!

In summary: I would not recommend this bank to anyone! you are going to go through a lot of headaches and problems from staff. Even when trying you provide reasonable evidence and proof from them saying they can help they will not assist you. I would recommend going to FNB instead as I have multiple friends and family with them and they do not have any issues like this. Nedbank needs to learn to respect their customers and start meeting demands.
