Nedgroup insurance worst service ever

Property insurance ( Ned group)

I registered a burst pipe and leaking drain on 28 February 2017 claim nr CO ********** 0472.

Was told to get quotes.(excess will be deducted from total amount.)

Firstly this is terrible that they do not have assessors, or approved contractors for this job. As I work 24 km from home, to make appointments for quotes/meetings. Got 1 quote as other person only told me later not interested in insurance claims. This was the case of a lot of plumbing services.

Decided to send the quote, due to 48 km per quote, and urgency.

On 1 March 2017 I lodged a complaint, due to no response.

On 2nd of March 2017 received a mail stating banking details is required.( see attached). This is stupid as service provider banking details was on quote.

On 22 March 2017, unfortunately lodged another claim , Claim no C ********** 73576, Contractor the pool man, in Johannesburg.

Firstly why Johannesburg as I live in Pretoria? Contacted them on 23 March 2017, to hear if they will have a look at it on 24th March 2017. The reply is will let me know. After phoning them on 24th they said sorry, maybe Monday.

Contacting the claim department on this, they said will get someone . appointing 1 st Tek. Ireceived the sms. Phoning them I was told will be there at 15h00.

Person arrived at 16h00, and took photos etc.

However on 24 March 2017 at 15.51 received an sms, saying Claim nr CO ********** 0472 , has been approved , Payment should reflect in your account within 72 hrs.

1. This is the claim submitted close to a month back. (Should I have left this pipe to leak ?and live in discomfort) .

2. Also with mail attached stating that it is fixed. ( Bought all the spares, and friend of mine who knows plumbing helped me)

3. Was never informed that the claim was approved, Whether telephonically or via sms, except with the payment sms, also I never informed you that THE work was done SATISFACTORY, by this contractor. Yet he gets paid.

According to me THIS IS *****!!!, otherwise I want to be a contractor for Nedgroup.

All smse still on phone as proof, if needed.
