NEDGROUP INSURANCE REAP ME OFF-P09PL***6
I trust you are well. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent insurance premium increase on my newly insured vehicle, the 2025 Jetour Dashing, which I purchased this month for R466,000.
As a loyal customer of Nedbank for over 12 years, I have consistently entrusted you with my property, MFC, and car insurance. I also moved my car insurance from King Price to Nedgroup Insurance 2-3 years ago, initially opting for a premium of R1600. While I fully understand that insurance premiums can rise for various reasons, I did not foresee such a dramatic increase when I switched my coverage from my previous car (2020 VW Tiguan Allspace 1.4 R-Line), valued higher and considered a higher risk due to potential hijacking, speed, and expensive parts.
This year, after purchasing a 2025 Jetour Dashing, I was shocked to find that the premium for this vehicle has been set at R2600, which is R1000 more than my previous premium. This increase is significant, and when I questioned the consultant regarding this, I was promised a follow-up call, but to date, I have not received any communication.
I have always viewed Nedbank as a trusted partner, and this recent experience has left me feeling deeply dissatisfied and betrayed. I feel that the substantial premium increase for a vehicle with a lower value and less risk profile compared to my previous car is unfair, especially as I have been a loyal customer for more than a decade.
I kindly request that you review my policy, taking into account the difference in vehicle value, risk assessment, and my long-standing loyalty to Nedbank. It would be greatly appreciated if you could reconsider this premium increase or offer a more reasonable adjustment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would appreciate a prompt response and hope to resolve this issue amicably. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly should you require further information or clarification.
