NEDBANKS way of treating a client of over 20 Years

Background regarding the complaint:

1. I have been a loyal client with Nedbank for more than 20 years.
2. All my credit facilities are with Nedbank i.e. Home loan, vehicle finance and credit cards.
3. I do not owe any money on my credit card and my home loan is paid in excess.
4. Clean ITC reports with very high credit rating score (I never missed a payment on any accounts at any point)
5. I have an Investment account with Nedbank.
6. My current home loan excess funds are more than the outstanding balance on the bond.
7. I have always paid significantly more every month on said Nedbank Home loan thus the available Nedbank home loan facility.

It all started more than 3 weeks ago when I app**** for a further loan on my existing Nedbank Home loan. I did my application via my personal banker at Cradlestone Mall. I app**** to increase my bond.

My banker then informed me that my further advanced has been granted, this after 3 weeks, but not as per the application. I then explained to her that this was totally unacceptable as I could not understand how they captured the wrong figures.

She then explained to me that whoever captured the application did not retain the current facility. After numerous visits to the branch they finally rectified the problem and approved the loan. Only then to find out that Nedbank Home loan's has once again completely stuffed up the application.

The approved re-advanced is now over a period of 300 months and not 240 as per my filled in application and additional to this Nedbank feels that it is ethical business practice to raise my current interest rate with 3%. To give you an idea what this means: The rate change amounts to an additional R2000 per month over 300 months equates to R600000.

This was a complete surprise and slap in the face as I was assured, actually guaranteed, by my banker and her college that my rate will not be affected as it is an existing bond.

Now the question remains, what do I as a loyal customer do to deserve service like this???

I am confident that any of the other institutions including SA Homeloans would have dealt with me in a more professional manner if I was a long standing customer. Who knows, maybe they would actually want my business and my investments...

I am now at the point where my banker is avoiding my calls and not returning my calls as she still has no answer for me going on 4 weeks now...

Thank you Nedbank for treating me as a loyal client. If this is the way you treat loyal customers I shiver to think how you would treat a new customer???

Maybe it's time to end our relationship?
