Nedbank's dilapidated digital infrastructure a nightmare

After waiting in the bank for what seemed like hours, I still have no access to my account via Nedbank's online banking and App, since Friday the 30th of October 2020.

As a first time business banking customer casually registering for internet banking at Nedbank, it was quite amusing to see that Nedbank had registered their domain as Netbank with a "t", I thought by myself. Now in after sight I realise it was meant to be ironic, as they are literally light years behind their closest competitor in terms of digital banking services. "Netbank" which was meant to be a force to be reckoned with in digital banking services, is the smaller of the 4 big banks who likes to partner with big tech firms, just to seem relevant. Just like the BSOD(blue screen of death, for tech junkies) on your PC when you power it up, "Netbank's" digital services, regularly experiences technical errors when you decide to make use of "IT", no pun intended.

I opened my business account in June 2020, struggled to built up my business during Covid-19 and now I cant access my account because of "Netbank's" aging platform and ********** technical support.

When I manage to access "Netbank's" online banking and try to load a beneficiary or pay a beneficiary, it would return a technical error. Sometimes it would seem as if it is making an effort to load the screen I want, by stating: "busy making connection to phone."

When I try to use the App by entering my ID number on my personal profile, it would state that, "something went wrong" and that it could not send me the aptly named; "Approve-it message". Then when I try to sneak in the back door, through my business profile it would reprimand me by stating; "it couldn't find the cellphone number."

I have phoned my business banker three times and he seems more confused about this whole affair than me. "" IT" has not come back to me with an answer', his reply would be. He confirmed that my profile is correctly set up and that my cellphone number is registered. I would not like to be "IT" when "Netbank's" new online banking goes live next year. I can now see why they had to extend the deadline date for this new digital revolution to come online, because they are still fixing "IT".
