NEDBANK'S COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR CLIENTS CONSTITUTES ********* PRACTICE
My grandmother who is turning 94 in October 2023 had a 5 year fixed deposit investment with Nedbank. The investment matured on 13 June 2023. My aunt, who looks after my grandmother tried to arrange with Nedbank telephonically to reinvest the funds for a further period, but Nedbank INSISTED that my 93 year old grandmother goes to a branch. On 15 June my aunt took my grandmother to the Montana Nedbank branch, where they were informed that someone had frozen the account, and that headoffice must first release the funds. On 20 June my aunt again took my grandmother to Nedbank Montana but since my grandmother couldn't properly hear what the bank official said to her during a security check, Nedbank insisted that a curator be appointed for her. This is absolutely ridiculous as my grandmother's brain is still sharp but her hearing unfortunately not so much. On 26 June my aunt again took my grandmother to the branch where my grandmother signed release forms, took finger prints, did a face scan and complete verification. They were informed that the funds will be released on 26 August 2023. (This after my grandmother decided not to reinvest due to the absolute horrific treatment received by Nedbank). On 28 August my aunt enquired from Nedbank as the funds were not released and paid into my grandmother's selected Absa bank account. My aunt was informed telephonically that the release of the funds was cancelled and the funds placed in a 32 Day deposit account. (WITHOUT ANYBODY'S INSTRUCTION OR CONSENT!!!) My aunt and grandmother again went to the Montana Nedbank branch where she again had to do fingerprint scans and the full verification. My grandmother again instructed Nedbank to release the funds, but apparently their system was offline, and the manager refused to sign off on the instruction as according to her this must be done by head office.
We are DONE with Nedbank. Unbelievable how poorly they treat clients, especially the elderly.
We request Nedbank to IMMEDIATELY give effect to the instruction provided to them. And we hope to NEVER do business with you again!!!!
