Nedbank wastes your time...
Nedbank has sent me several notifications in the recent past asking me to use my credit card more and do less EFT's from their app. So Friday I wanted to pay with my Nedbank credit card and authorisation failed. Second try it said card error, but the machine reported "Card restricted". So today I went to a Nedbank branch, was alotted a queue number and after having to wait 55 minutes the person who tried to assist me checked my detail, checked the cards details on the system, and told me the card is active and everything is Ok. To make sure we opened the Nedbank app on my phone and according to her everything looked fine there too. I told her about the problems I experienced and she said the only advise she then can give me is to phone ***. Which I did and after hanging on for quite some time listening to some ****py music and even more ****py Nedbank adverti*****ts, I decided to hang up as I didn't want to wait another 55 minutes before being serviced again. As according to the assistant everything was Ok with the card and my account I tried a transaction again later this afternoon, again with the same negative result: The machine came back with the note: Authorisation failed. If Nedbank paid me R20 per minute I had to wait longer than 5 minutes as some American banks do, I would have scored more than a R1000. But no, I clearly wasted more than an hour for nothing. So much for productivity loss at Nedbank!
