Nedbank - treated so badly

CREDIT CARD I have been with Nedbank for over 10 years and have a savings and Credit Card with them. I lost my job over 6 months ago due to the company being unable to pay salaries on time and eventually did not get paid for the last month that I worked. Before that there was always lots of money going through the credit card and the required installment paid in full and on time. The credit card is now in arrears which I take full responsibility for and will quickly be fixed once I am gainfully employed again which will be soon. I have explained all of this to the numerous (at least 4) different people that have phoned me from Nedbank regarding this. On all of the occasions (I do hope they record the phone calls as they say they do) I explained my situation again and again and asked what can be done. I explained that I can only pay around R500 this month, which I duly did, well before the end of the month. Imagine my surprise when they just transferred money from my savings account to put into my credit card, no notification, no discussion. This money is so that I can live every month. I phoned and was put through to collections to try to make an arrangement and for some explanation of why there was no notification of what they were going to do and why no-one had offered that I can make an arrangement before? The person on the other end of the phone was not rude but you can hear that there is no leeway, no care, no concern, no apologies.

Bottom line, I agreed to pay an amount every month and they have closed the card. I understand that there are rules and regulations but the lack of communication and interest is disgusting and one is left with a truly hideous feeling when it comes to the name NEDBANK.

SAVINGS ACCOUNT On numerous occasions when I knew my salary was going to be late I sent letters through to Nedbank and also phoned them to inform them that my salary was going to be late and to please honour my debit orders on my savings account. Absolutely no response from them at all and R600 worth of fees for RD debit orders which were probably paid between 2 and 5 days late. No assistance at all, no care, no concern, OH but lots and lots of marketing calls of course.

The one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Once I am gainfully employed again, and I do earn quite a reasonable salary, I will be closing my savings account with them as well.
